Queen's Hamlet Versailles Silk Scarf

Made in
More details

A tribute to the Queen's Hamlet at the Château de Versailles, Marie-Antoinette's bucolic retreat. This extra large, hand-made silk scarf is ornamented with motifs inspired by the architecture and topography of the site, including the Queen's boudoir, the surrounding thatched cottages, the silhouette of a coach racing at full speed along the walks in the royal park, and especially the Marlborough Tower perched on its little island, its form evocative of a lighthouse. Its GPS coordinates 48° 49’ 9’’ N 2° 6’ 46’’ E, are also hand embroidered on the scarf. It can be worn around the neck, around the waist, as a bustier or dress, tied around the head or in any other way that comes to mind. A collaboration between the Château de Versailles and Kilometre Paris.

Designed by hand in Paris, France. Manufactured and embroidered with hand-rolled edge in Como, Italy.
130cm x 130cm, 100% silk.
