More details
Designed and made in Paris, this beautiful folded leather box is made from vegetable tanned calf skin; its undyed natural finish will develop a beautiful patina over time. It’s a perfect fit for a pair of glasses. Isaac is inspired by industrial aesthetics, standard packaging, cutting and folding, and architecture and design. Challenging ostentatious and disposable fashion, the house is dedicated to fine, artisanal quality, and channels a bold, minimal style.

Since he began, Isaac Reina has loved working with natural, vegetable-tanned, full-grain leather. The traditional techniques used in the vegetable tanning process mean that the leather continues to soften and develops a rich, burnished patina as it ages. Sunlight, movement, heat and the natural oils on your hands slowly darken the leather, making each piece unique. Stains, scratches and patina belong to the normal ageing process of your item. Differences in tone, shading, gradation, and the possible alterations of the material are to be regarded as a sign of quality. Also, vegetable tanning does not pollute the environment the way the chromium-based leather tanning does. There is also less machinery, and so less electricity.

Isaac Reina

Barcelona-born luxury leather goods maker

Isaac Reina began his career in his native Barcelona after studies in fashion and architecture. In 1998, he followed a French girlfriend to Paris and, three weeks later, landed a job at Hermès doing menswear. He designs his own label, launched in 2006, from a studio and showroom in the Marais, and his bags and accessories are still handmade in Paris at four ateliers, one of which is company-owned. “Paris is a place where a tradition of leather exists, like Florence,” he says.
