Ceramic Croissant Teapot

Made in

A ceramic croissant teapot from local designer Pia Chevalier. Handcrafted in her Parisian workshop, its glaze recalls the colour and texture of the iconic buttery pastry. The croissant handle resembles the raw rolled pastry, before it has been baked. Originally hailing from Lyon, a capital of French gastronomy, Pia creates functional objects based on the iconic and delicious shapes of French cakes and pastries: teapots, knife holders, saucers and platters…

Emily Marant

The Paris it-girl orchestrating collaborations that connect artists to French savoir-faire, for witty, limited-edition interiors objects

Born-and-bred Parisienne Emily comes from a long line of successful, hard-working creatives – most famously her aunt Isabel, whose eponymous label continues to define Parisian chic. After graduating, a stint curating the shop at Musée Maillol provided an epiphany, and aged 27, she founded her creative agency Studio Marant. The collab-happy laboratory’s projects have since hopped genres, drawing on emerging talents for its productions – be it staging Sonia Rykiel’s 50th anniversary or creating pop-up boutiques and capsule collections. Together with Hugo Matha, she’s now launched French Cliché, a roving gallery and label with a Paris base that turns icons of French culture into witty, limited-edition interiors objects: think ceramic croissants reappropriated as teapots.
