More details

Borrowing their in-house motto, ‘Mon Pays C’est Paris’ (‘Paris is My Country’), Ofr.’s free-spirited homage to their home city captures its streets, inhabitants and creatives in a series of spontaneous snapshots taken over just 24 hours in the summer of 2020. Established in 1996, Ofr. is an independent arts bookshop, gallery, and publisher long beloved of the city’s bohemian set. Includes a conversation with Ofr. founder Alexandre Thumerelle and LD?. Only available online here! PS You can watch the eponymous short film based on the same concept (2020) on YouTube.

Alexandre & Marie Thumerelle

The hyperactive indie bookshop founders who are keeping it in the family

Brother and sister duo Marie and Alexandre Thumerelle set up their bookshop Ofr. with “zero francs” in the late 90s. Today Ofr. means “Open, Free, and Ready,” or “On Fire,” depending on the day and mood. The space is constantly reconfigured around their latest passions and projects, taking in exhibitions, catalogues, books, capsule collections, pop-up shops, gigs and festivals.
